Lampadina LED Table Lamp – White

Designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1972 and an object in MoMA’s collection. the Lampadina Table Lamp combines a bulb that has a science-lab feel with a stand that evokes a film reel. In Italian. lampadina literally means light bulb and for this design. Castiglioni played with the concept of light through a decidedly meta recreation of a light bulb. The Lampadina’s clear bulb provides direct lighting. although a portion of it has been sandblasted to create a frosted circle that casts a more diffused light. The anodized aluminum base contains the excess power cord and the lamp is powered by a standard plug-in. Achille Castiglioni has work in MoMA’s collection. The Lampadina Table Lamp measures 9.4h x 4.9diam. with a 90 black cord. Bulb included. Made in Italy.
