Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958. the PH Artichoke Pendant Lamp. a design in MoMA’s collection. helped redefine modern illumination with a revolutionary form that mimics the leafy layers of an artichoke. The design was originally conceived for the Langelinie Pavilonen. a modernist restaurant in Copenhagen. where it still hangs today.
Manufactured in Denmark by Louis Poulsen. the PH Artichoke Pendant Lamp features 72 precisely positioned leaves—made from laser-cut brushed stainless steel—that form 12 unique rows of six leaves each. The leaves illuminate the fixture as well as emitting 100% glare-free diffused light that casts unique patterns in your space.
